Kia ora! Sean Cary Novak is a full-time father of three based in Havelock North, New Zealand. In early 2020, Sean and Anton faced a massive challenge—considerable business holdings in the United States required Anton’s leadership, but the health and safety of their three small children in the face of COVID was paramount. That August, Sean and his husband Anton made the difficult decision to leave 40 years of life in the United States in favor of New Zealand.

New Zealand is the stuff dreams are made of. Wide open spaces, natural beauty all around, and a lifestyle just a bit more relaxed than the frenetic pace of the United States. Aotearoa (New Zealand) is a country like no other. The scenery is blissful, but the transition is very real. Moving countries is daunting, so Sean is here to help. He has experienced the pitfalls of leaving the U.S., tackled the loneliness of living on a remote island, and helped his children adjust to life in a new hemisphere.
