The Netherlands

Why the Netherlands?
An ever-popular destination for expats, The Netherlands offer a great quality of life, especially for immigrants who enjoy cafés, canals, and cycling. Amsterdam gets idealized for its cosmopolitan sights and lax drug laws, but every city here offers stellar public transportation options. Dutch bike culture is alive and well, making car ownership less necessary than in the US. Most locals speak excellent English, although some Dutch may be expected at work, in financial transactions, or to really get close to your Dutch friends. High housing demand drives up rental prices in the cities, compounding the burden of an average 30 percent tax rate, but the quality of education, access to healthcare, and progressive values make it worthwhile to those who love it.
