Cassie in Uruguay

Cassie moved to Uruguay with her husband and two elementary-aged children after Texas became a dangerous place for their transgender kid. Since then, they've found Uruguay to be a safe and comfortable place for their family.
Cassie works as a public school teacher in Montevideo, and both kids attend the neighborhood public school (and are learning Spanish so quickly!). She's navigated multiple aspects of the healthcare system, immigration, renting an apartment and setting up utilities, obtaining a local job, voting and paying taxes from abroad, getting special education interventions for her kids, and all other parts of an international move.
During your Uruguay consultation, Cassie will provide country-specific information, as well as more personalized advice about the unique challenges of moving abroad with children. She can also advise about the legal protections, guaranteed medical care, and general cultural attitudes for LGBTQ+ individuals. Cassie and her husband speak Spanish, so they've already built a community in Uruguay. If there is anything she can't answer, she can easily find the person who can!
This is a one-hour consultation.

Extremely Friendly
Cassie was super friendly and easy to talk to. She answered our long list of questions. She also had knowledge about teaching there, which was super helpful for my background in education. She provided some extremely helpful resources. We appreciated that she laid out both pros and cons of Uruguay. If you are just starting the process, a call with Cassie is a great first step.
Researching Uruguay
I had a video consultation with Cassie. She is a wealth of knowledge about the things that were most important to me in a country. We both have young children, and her journey immigrating to Uruguay has given her the ability to guide others. She answered all of my questions and even followed our consult with an email containing more valuable information for my family situation. Highly recommend!
