Why Mexico?

Moving to Mexico is a no-brainer for as many as 1,000,000 US migrants — the most of any country — who cite the weather (including tropical, temperate, continental, arid, and even a dollop of polar!) and low cost of housing, healthcare, food, and other necessities. Retirees and digital nomads love the coasts and head to Puerto Vallarta, Yucatán Peninsula, and Oaxaca for the sea and sun. CDMX, Monterrey, and Lake Chapala are popular inland choices.

Some expats fear violence from drug cartels, but others say those fears are overblown and based on your lifestyle and the area you choose to live in. Most people agree on Mexico's best assets — warm, family-oriented people; vibrant, exuberant culture; and some of the world's most delicious food.
