Why Thailand?

With every country we feature, we talk about whether a place is easy or difficult to adapt to, and whether the benefits outweigh any difficulties. Thailand is a great example. If you're set in your ways, you might struggle with the traffic, humid weather, and odd political coup. But if you can overcome your hesitations, you'll find so much to love in the Land of Smiles. There's the warm and friendly citizens, vibrant cities, low cost of living, affordable healthcare, stunning beaches, and — of course — the FOOD!

Of course, you'll need to learn some Thai to get around here, and you may want help with visas and contracts. Thailand is highly recommended for students, retirees, families with kids, and especially the LGBTQIA community. Marijuana is newly legal here, but other drugs still carry shockingly stiff penalties.
