Serbia

Why Serbia?

Serbia has a lot to offer to those looking for a change of scenery. The nation is quickly becoming a business hub in Southeast Europe, presenting some great job opportunities for newcomers. The cost of housing is reasonable, while public transportation and utilities are quite efficient compared to other countries in Europe. Education is also taken seriously in Serbia; students have access to quality schools and universities throughout the country.  Striking landscapes, such as the mountain ranges in the south or the vibrant cultural cityscapes of Belgrade and Novi Sad, draw in expats from across the globe.

However, as a non-EU member state, there are some additional visa requirements when relocating here. These could make it more difficult for some people to stay in Serbia permanently. Language barriers can also slow the integration process, due to English not being widely spoken outside of larger cities. While people seeking more robust services might not find Serbia ideal for their needs, digital nomads may thrive here outside the Schengen visa zone.
