These Countries Offer Digital Nomad Visas

While “digital nomads” — remote employees or freelancers who work from their laptops — have existed for as long as technology has made it possible, most still travel on tourist visas and work surreptitiously around the world.

First launched by Estonia in 2020, digital nomad visas allow these wanderers to work honestly in countries that allow it based on terms and income amounts set by each country.

As of July 2024, more than 50 countries and territories offer some sort of digital nomad visa, with still more countries considering this option in the near future. It can be difficult to keep track of all the visa options currently available for this new market. Serena Tara, a Staff Writer at Thrillist, compiled a fantastic list of those places offering the digital nomad visa, along with income requirements, length of stay, and where to apply.
